How does water be clean?
Active carbon filters water
Many small "pores" catch various substances
Active carbon is carbon which is made out of coals and coconut shell etc. It has micropore (diameter 10nm-2000nm*) and made by reaction with gas and chemicals.
This micropore is network structured inside carbon and the wall of microcpore is spacious (500-2500m2/g) which enables to catches various types of substances.
Well refined activated carbon is used in food additives and medicinal carbon.

How to make carbon activated... "Activation"
Activated carbon is made in 2 processes, "carbonization " and "activation".
| "Carbonization": | Roast in 200℃-600℃ in no oxygen state. |
| "Activation": | Develop pore structure and widen those pores. As a result, surface area inside pores widen, and strengthen absorption ability. |

What are raw material of activated carbon?
There are charcoal, coconut shell, coals, rayon, and phenolic resin, and produce powdered activated carbon, granulated activated carbon, fibrous activated carbon, and molded active carbon.

Only activated carbon made of coconut shell
is used for Pure Crystal!
Coconut shell activated carbon is made in Japan and used for refining tap water (for human). It is produced by Japanese manufacturer under strict management and with steam activation, and is high qualified activated carbon with less impurities and suits standards of food and food additives. This is what also Japanese drink manufacturers use. For your information, only "Shell" indicated in left image is used for activated carbon made of coconut shell.

Tested for 4 weeks Using antibacterial activated carbon filter on "Pure Crystal for Puppy". Collect water after a day, 3 days, and once a week after 3 days. Measure quantities of common bacteria and compare water with antibacterial activated carbon and blank.
